Engagement Manager – Healthcare / Life Sciences

The New Africa (North, East, and West Africa) team brings together a multidisciplinary team of dozen of passionate consultants who are committed to our clients – private and public Lifesciences / healthcare sector actors – for the definition and implementation of strategies on the African continent.
Role responsibilities:
The Engagement Manager will take on a variety of roles that focus primarily on the following core areas: business development, client/project leadership, offering development, and firm/operational leadership roles.
He/She will engage with the whole healthcare ecosystem in West Africa (Pharmaceuticals and medical devices local affiliates, healthcare providers, public health organizations, NGOs…) to drive IQVIA strategic offerings:
- Technology (e.g., Digital transformation strategy, Implementation of digital platforms, etc.)
- Management Consulting (e.g., Go-to-market models, strategic market reviews, forecasts, pricing studies, due diligence, etc.)
- Analytics & Digital (Segmentation, targeting, multi-channel engagement strategy, etc.)
- Consulting projects with the public sector (a project with foundations, Governments, Development funds, etc.)
- Primary market research (e.g., image assessment, market sizing, patient journey, treatment landscape, brand usage, etc.)
- He/she supports and advises companies and organizations in the health sector in their strategic thinking, in identifying new growth levers, setting up new services, redefining their organization in a more agile and competitive way.
- Responsible for the implementation of projects from business development to delivery, the Engagement Manager will drive the implementation of the solution imagined addressing the customer’s question with the support of a team of consultants.
·Lead business development activities:
- Build IQVIA presence and reputation as a trusted adviser in Healthcare
- Develop clients mapping and corresponding strategy
- Identify and engage key decision-makers, influencers, stakeholders, and networks (from operational stakeholder to Regional GM, Global decision-makers) in each account
- Leverage internal IQVIA expertise across all practices and all regions (e.g., PMR, MC, Tech, PH, IQVIA Global/Headquarter Key account managers, etc)
Identify and address client needs:
- Structure ambiguous problems / define the problem statements and take action to solve them
- Lead and supervise the preparation of data/indicators / interview guides and analysis grids
- Drive analysis and synthesis of results execution
- Craft recommendations
- Presentation of results to clients
- Establish trust-based relationships with clients to better serve their organizations
Required Background:
- Education from a Business school and/or Engineering school with 7 years+ in a consulting firm
- A passion and strong understanding of the life sciences market
- Work experience in the region
- Business Development –Â Proven success selling complex strategy and operations engagements to Pharma/Life Sciences companies/Healthcare Organizations. Actively participate in proposal development
- Senior Level Solution Selling –Â Proven ability to build relationships, identify client pain points, and develop custom solutions at a senior level
- Client Relationship Management and Delivery –Â Principal owner of client engagements to the commercial functions within leading Healthcare organizations, focused on client satisfaction and outstanding client deliverables
- Analytical Problem-Solving –Â Applies an analytical approach to solving problems and reaching logical conclusions. Gathers information from a variety of sources and quickly gains an understanding of it. Works effectively with complicated, conflicting, or ambiguous information, and looks beyond the surface of issues to identify their underlying patterns and causes
- Team Development/Management –Â Proven skills in identifying, recruiting, mentoring/coaching
- Innovation –Â Turns creative ideas into original solutions. Produces new or different approaches in current situations and enables creativity in others. Involved in generating ideas and seeing them through to implementation
- French knowledge would be a plus
