Albums
The discography of American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, as well as a number of compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed, members of the band did session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group’s collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.
Turn Back, Toto’s third studio album was criticized by critics for lacking hit singles. In 1985 the group’s singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned, and the band held auditions to choose a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their 1986 album Fahrenheit.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. The band dug through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was a hit by fans and the band went on a tour featuring former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun The drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour and an interview with Toto.

Toto is an American rock band formed in 1977 in Van Nuys, Greater Los Angeles. The group is comprised of Steve Lukather (vocalist/guitarist), David Paich (bassist), Steve Porcaro (keyboardist/vocalist), Jeff Porcaro and Joseph Williams who is a guitarist and vocalist. The group’s eclectic blend of influences has made them one of the most listened-to bands ever. The music of the group was featured in more than 200 movies and television shows including The Godfather & The Prince of Egypt.
In 1983, the group released Toto IV, which earned the band worldwide praise. The group embarked on the world to promote the album following its success. During the tour, lead vocalist Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. The band decided to let him leave at the conclusion of the tour and then hired guitarist/singer Joseph Williams in his place. Drummer David Hungate also left the band after the tour. He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.
The TOTO Museum is a futuristic structure with a variety of exhibition rooms that are dedicated to presenting the story of the company and its most innovative products. The exhibits at the museum include toilets and faucets, as well as tableware that have aided in the growth of TOTO over the past half century. Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has also released several compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the band is “Africa”, with over one billion views. The video is set in a library with the band performing on top of an African book stack.
The song “Africa”, from the album Toto IV, was written by the members of the band and produced by David Paich. The song was written by band members and produced David Paich. In 1985 In 1985, drummer Fergie Frederiksen quit Toto due to personal reasons. The group decided to conduct an audition and eventually chose Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.
Before and during the time of Toto’s creation, its members worked as session musicians for a diverse variety of artists. Toto was founded after Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and Boz Scaggs recorded Silk Degrees. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto began working on a special project called Old Is New. This album included three new tracks, as well as several finished recordings of old songs. The album received a lot of attention worldwide and the band went on a world tour to promote the album.

Toto is famous for their popular song “Africa” The group recently came together to promote their latest album, All In. The album, which was released on the 6th of November, 2018 included three brand new tracks from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun as well as completed recordings of four previously released tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also featured an original cover version of Weezer’s song “Hash Pipe” which the band re-released after hearing it on the radio.
